The Transport Workers Union is calling for frontline aviation workers to be vaccinated, after a Virgin Australia flight attendant tested positive to COVID. Chermside Westfield is the latest area of concern, with Rebel Sport, Footlocker, Country Road and Athletes Foot stores visited by a known infected case on Monday. This woman was infectious in the Sandgate community for 10 days and also travelled to Townsville and Magnetic Island. The woman worked at Prince Charles Hospital, travelled to Townsville and back on Virgin flights, went to Sandgate Woolworths on Sunday and then the Bay Health Gym. People who travelled on specific Virgin flights between NSW, Queensland and Melbourne last week have been deemed close contacts and told to immediately quarantine and get tested.
