I first noticed it in high school when Air BNB was exploding in my home city of San Diego, California. Even in the “colder” months, STR investors saw consistent cash flow, and property managers suddenly had a new, lucrative gig. One area of San Diego housing, right on the beach, at one point was 100% used for short term rental. An inordinate amount of money to stay on the beach in San Diego. Now, San Diego residents aim to eliminate Air BNB from the city entirely.
