A volunteer lifesaver got buried waist down in sand at a Victorian beach had to be dug out by firefighters. The teenager was believed to be digging a deep hole in the sand at Point Lonsdale beach on Sunday when he became trapped. Police, Life Saving Victoria, SES, and Fire Rescue Victoria also attended the incident. “Our first priority is the safety and wellbeing of our people and the communities we serve, and Life Saving Victoria will be conducting a comprehensive investigation into this incident,” he said.
