Huge crowds have turned out for Melbourne’s Invasion Day protest on Tuesday morning despite warnings from police and the Premier that gatherings of more than 100 people remain banned in the city. Thousands filled Spring Street on Tuesday morning, with a heavy police presence in the CBD from Parliament House down to Flinders Street Station. A line of police in front of a line of police horses blocked protesters from the Parliament House steps. Almost all protesters were wearing masks but were packed in along the footpaths on both sides of Spring Street. We want you to listen to our voice.”Later, protesters called on the Prime Minister to meet with the families of Aboriginal people who died in custody.
