But consider it compared to the mutual fund. Are you planning on realizing the gain from that mutual fund, or would it be wiser to let it take advantage of dollar-cost averaging and ride through the peaks and valleys? Then consider the tax advantages of real estate compared to a mutual fund. I personally consider the loss of control and liquidity to be a positive attribute when it comes to private syndications. Just an initial closing and perhaps a few additional closes and that's it....and that's fine by me.
