Attorney-General Christian Porter said he would “have a cold hard think” about suing the ABC, which levelled the allegations during a Four Corners episode in November. Communications Minister Paul Fletcher has written to ABC chair Ita Buttrose, demanding to know how the episode was in the public interest. Mr Fletcher questioned whether the ABC had shown a “clear bias” by only exploring Coalition MPs’ personal lives. Mr Porter said he would wait to see how the ABC responded to the letter before deciding whether to sue. Mr Fletcher also did not rule out making a formal complaint to the ABC if he was not satisfied with the broadcaster’s response.
