The sign was placed on a major thoroughfare through the University of Sydney on Monday, with the Sydney University Catholic Society saying it wanted to engage “students on campus about the important life issues in our society”. A spokesman for the University of Sydney Catholic Society said they were sorry for the signage. “We understand that this is a sensitive topic as many members of our community are living with a disability, including members, friends and relatives of the Sydney University Catholic Society,” the Catholic Society said in a Facebook post. “This attempt to pit disabled peoples and pro-choice advocates against each other has, and always will, fail.”The Sydney University Catholic Society set up the stall on the University’s Eastern Ave for Life Week 2021.
